Helsinki Symphonic Brass
About
Helsinki Symphonic Brass is a classical brass ensemble founded in 2019. We perform music from renaissance and baroque all the way to modern works, premieres and film music. All of our members are professional musicians from the capital area, and have a masters degree in music.
The ensemble consists of the brass section of a symphony orchestra, including percussions: 4 trumpets, 4 horns, 4 trombones, 1-2 tubas and 2 percussions. The artistic director of the ensemble is Sauli Saarinen. We have also performed with smaller ensembles, depending on the customers needs.
The leading idea of Helsinki Symphonic Brass is to expand the repertoire for the Symphonic Brass ensemble, and to commission and premiere new works from modern composers.
